Word Kitchen

Word Kitchen celebrates writing and the spoken word through open mics in Exeter and Budleigh Salterton and workshops which tap into people’s creativity.

Established two years ago Word Kitchen attracts a regular community of writers who cover both prose and poetry. Word Kitchen hold events at Exeter Library, Exeter Phoenix and Brook Kitchen cafe bar in Budleigh Salterton. 

Word Kitchen welcomes everyone regardless of the stage they are at in their writing journey. People enjoy reading their work in supportive environments.

Recently Word Kitchen was asked to take over the reins of The Exeter Novel Prize. The submission window for this year is July to 31st December.

The Writers’ Hub at  The Budleigh Salterton Literary Festival.Word Kitchen is creating a space for writers to meet, attend panel discussions and to write.  More details will be posted the Budleigh Salterton Literary Festival website and in the print  programme for the festival which will be published mid-July.
