This December, Exeter UNESCO City of Literature are highlighting local literature as part of a global project with other Cities of Literature from across the world, to show how books from Exeter & Devon reflect the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

October marked the twenty-year anniversary of Edinburgh becoming the world’s first UNESCO City of Literature! The City celebrated by hosting the Cities of Literature Annual Conference to reflect on the achievements of the past two decades in Edinburgh and across the global network.

We chat with Erin Allgrove from independent Devon publisher Langrove Publishing about Bosun Bob, Devon’s publishing scene and her favourite reading spot.

We recently took part in Lviv City of Literature’s project 'Places of Independence' which saw several UNESCO Cities of Literature sharing a piece of their city that to them represents independence and freedom.

On Tuesday 10th September, we celebrated the culmination of City Reads - our campaign to decide Exeter’s favourite book - and Exeter’s fifth year as a UNESCO City of Literature at the Royal Albert Memorial Museum.

Exeter City of Literature’s fourth annual Book Market returns on Sunday 9th June, 11am to 4pm. In front of Exeter Cathedral, 11 independent bookshops from across Devon and many free literary-themed activities will give residents and visitors a day packed full of bookish fun.
