Over the course of two sessions (Thursday 15th and Tuesday 27th July), Quay Words writer-in-residence and playwright Naomi Westerman teaches a friendly and inclusive workshop on nature writing for performance. This workshop will involve taking a short walk in nature (the walk will be fully disabled accessible), followed by a discussion of various techniques to help you find inspiration, develop ideas, and how to structure and strengthen your writing. Participants will be encouraged to write a piece for performance inspired by something in the natural world, this could be a monologue, a poem, or something else.
The first session will be all about generating ideas and the second workshop will prepare you for a public performance of your work-in-progress at our Quay Voices event.
