Africa Writes – Exeter Book Club

  • Exeter United Kingdom (map)

On Tuesday 26 January at 4pm on Crowdcast, Booker finalist Maaza Mengiste will be reading from and discussing her novel The Shadow King with author Ndinda Kioko from the Jalada collective.  The Shadow King is a beautifully crafted exploration of female power within the context of personal conflict and the second Italo-Ethiopian war under Emperor Haile Selassie.

This event forms the second in the four-part Africa Writes – Exeter Book Club series, launched through Exeter’s UNESCO City of Literature Programme.  You can find out more and register for this event here: https://www.ideasfestival.co.uk/events/maaza-mengiste/
