Spork!
Spork! is an Exeter based events producer putting on live poetry events across the city and beyond. Running since 2018, Spork!’s mission is to make spoken-word accessible, engaging and fun!
Since 2018, they’ve hosted over 100 events, ranging from Haiku Slams to workshops and pop-up performances. They’ve programmed big names like Rob Auton, Vanessa Kissule, Joelle Taylor, and Harry Baker, alongside a wide range of local emerging and established poets – plus comics, drag queens, rappers, and even brass bands.
They regularly host shows at Exeter Phoenix, including the annual City Slam competition and the much-loved Christmas Special. They also host a monthly poetry book club called the Not Dead Poets Society, on the last Tuesday of every month at Exeter Library!

Out Loud in Libraries
Out Loud in Libraries is a series of LGBTQ+ live poetry nights taking over libraries across Devon this July, created by Spork! Poetry
Expect an evening of spoken-word poetry that’s heartfelt, hilarious, thoughtful and fun. Featuring 3 incredible guest poets, and a chance for the audience to get involved with our Devon Limerick Competition. With tickets just £4 for Library members.
These events will feature silly wordsmith Chris White with the Bard of Exeter Casey Garfield and guest slots from Aish Humphries, Eryn McDonald, and Sonia Thakurdesai

Join us for another night of poetry, spoken-word & sweet treats at Chococo on Gandy Street.
Just like a regular Spork! but more chilled, and much more chocolatey. With feature sets from 2 incredible local artists (Peter Farrie & Hannah Walker) a mini open mic, and (of course) delicious hot chocolates, soft drinks and other refreshments available from the café. Plus some free samples! All hosted by Chris Milky White.

It’s that time of year again! Pens down, pins out, slap on some sunscreen and join Spork! Poetry for glorious Summer Special in Rougemont Gardens.
A sun-drenched hour (and a bit) of sumptuous spoken-word, poetry, silliness, and songs, featuring some of the best Wordsmiths around.
With comedy punk poet TS Idiot and multiple award-winning Sophie Dumont. Hosted by the ever sweaty Chris White.
