Spork!
Spork! is an Exeter based events producer putting on live poetry events across the city and beyond. Running since 2018, Spork!’s mission is to make spoken-word accessible, engaging and fun!
Since 2018, they’ve hosted over 100 events, ranging from Haiku Slams to workshops and pop-up performances. They’ve programmed big names like Rob Auton, Vanessa Kissule, Joelle Taylor, and Harry Baker, alongside a wide range of local emerging and established poets – plus comics, drag queens, rappers, and even brass bands.
They regularly host shows at Exeter Phoenix, including the annual City Slam competition and the much-loved Christmas Special. They also host a monthly poetry book club called the Not Dead Poets Society, on the last Tuesday of every month at Exeter Library!

Slamovision 2026: Grand Final Watch Party

Join Spork! and Exeter UNESCO City of Literature at Exeter Library for a special watch party as the world’s finest spoken-word poets go head-to-head in the Slamovision 2026 Grand Final!
Hosted this year by Iowa City, Slamovision brings together poets from UNESCO Cities of Literature across the globe, competing for the coveted title of Slamovision Champion.
Expect incredible performances, powerful words, international camaraderie, and all the nail-biting excitement of a Eurovision!
Entry is completely free, and you’re welcome to bring your own drinks, including alcohol.

Spork! Poetry Halloween Special
Exeter Phoenix - Friday 30th October - 7pm - 9pm
Join Spork! this Halloween for another spectacular & spooky spoken-word event, featuring the annual “Dead Poets Slam,” and the gruesome twosome of silly poetry; Chris “Ghostly” White, and Edward “Dead Wood” Tripp.
THE SLAM – GET INVOLVED!
Six famous poets will rise from the dead, brought to life by six contemporary artists for one night only! They’ll battle it out in a chance to win everlasting life, plus a cash prize of £100.
Using a mixture of their own poetry, the work of their alias, and some stuff they make up on the night. Expect punches, pithy remarks and pure fi re, in the ultimate graveyard smash.
