Do you enjoy stories? Do you like acting? This course will introduce you to the world famous story of Macbeth and help you to use Shakespearean language with confidence.
We will use active story-telling and drama to help us travel through time and space! We will visit Macbeth’s castle, a battlefield in the North of Scotland and the mysterious heath. There will be plenty of time for you to use your drama skills. We will be using both Shakespeare’s original script and modern day language.
During the day, we will also be doing some creative writing. You will have the chance to write poetry, a short play script and a secret letter. We will think about how Shakespeare crafts his words to make them powerful and how you can do the same in your own writing.
This workshop aims to demystify Shakespearean language, develop pupils’ use of imagery in their writing and encourage creative response to text through the use of drama.
Cost: £35
